Three things everybody loves about Chennai

The Chennai Beaches

Chennai has a long, enviable coastline with a wide stretch of sand not only at the world famous Marina Beach, but also at the Besant Nagar Beach popularly known as Elliot‘s Beach or Bessie Beach. This is a much-loved beach favourited by several locals especially in South Chennai. Further south from Besant Nagar, we have the lesser-populated but increasingly-popular Thiruvanmiyur Beach, and of course the scenic ECR coastal Highway thereafter. This coastal road leads down South towards Mahabalipuram and the shimmering Bay of Bengal offers scenic respite at regular intervals all along the East Coast Road. The Marina and Elliot’s beaches have each become One-stop destinations for families, extended families and friends to get together and spend several hours outdoors. Plenty of food and game stalls have also sprung up all over the beach for refreshments and entertainment.

The Chennai Cuisine

When we say Chennai Cuisine, we aren’t talking just about the South Indian Fare or the foods that the city is famous for. Although Chennai has its signature dishes, we cannot limit the food scene here to just those. We are referring to the cumulative list of delicacies that the city offers that are high in quality and taste regardless of which part of the world the dish or cuisine has originated from. Right from local tea Kadai which serves delectable bajjis and vadais for rs 5 to the most expensive seven star restaurants, Namma Chennai boasts of a limitless range of eateries in a variety of food budgets that are almost equal in taste and flavour! The Restaurant options across the city include North Indian food, South Indian fare, Asian cuisine, American fast food joints, and cafes that offer a fantastic fusion in their menus. These are just some of the elements on the Chennai food scene worth celebrating.
